Class
Descriptions
Acrobatics: Learning the basic
foundation of the traditional acrobatic tricks. These
techniques focus on strength, control, balance and
flexibility. Exams (such as C.D.T.A. and A.F.S.A.) are
taught in all acrobatic classes.
Contortion: Beginning through
advanced classes in contortion, this is the extreme form of
acrobatics. It emphasizes incredible flexibility and
strength using hand, elbow, and chin balances as well as
overstretched/contorted poses.
Stretching and Conditioning: These
stretching classes are essential for those who want to
increase flexibility and strength. Stretching (1) is for
the beginner acrobats, gymnasts, dancers, or sport athletes
(such as hockey players, swimmers, skaters, martial arts
etc.) looking to increase flexibility. Extreme stretching
is designed for those who are looking for the ultimate
challenge in stretching with the most effective results.
Extreme Stretch and
Conditioning: The elite form of stretching and
conditioning using Russian based overstretching techniques.
Ballet: Geared towards individuals
with no previous dance training, this class enables
students to learn and create a strong foundation of dance
movement. Designed to help students smoothly enhance their
grace, formal gestures, steps and poses as well as
precision of movement. To combine this art with contortion
is a true advantage, it allows our dancers to present
themselves with such an elegant presence. Our performers
will appear polished and professional, a complete package.
Pre Professional Division: Our pre
professional division is a challenging, high energy class
for recreational students, of all ages, who have goals to
improve flexibility, co-ordination, strength and body
awareness. The fundamentals of acrobatics and contortion
are taught from the Canadian Dance Teachers Association and
AFSA exam syllabi. Students are also taught the necessary
skills to perform in our professional division as well as
to audition for other professional companies and show
events.
